About your policy
  • This policy is only available to residents of Australia and must be issued prior to the commencement of your trip.
  • Insurance is not available to travellers outside of Australia
  • This policy is not available to travellers 65 years of age or over at the time the Certificate of Insurance is to be issued.
  • There is no cover under this policy for an existing medical condition of you, a relative or anyone in the travelling party.
  • If you have an existing medical condition or are 65 years of age or over at the time the Certificate of Insurance is to be issued please ask Ouch about an alternative travel insurance policy that may be available.
  • This policy can be purchased for a maximum duration of 12 months.
  • You cannot extend the policy beyond the period of insurance shown on your original Certificate of Insurance.
  • This policy can be purchased up to 24 months in advance.
  • The terms and conditions of the policy are subject to the laws of the Australian state or territory where the Certificate of Insurance is issued. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.
Your duty of disclosure
Before you enter into an insurance contract, you have a duty of disclosure under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984.

If we ask you questions that are relevant to our decision to insure you and on what terms, you must tell us anything that you know and that a reasonable person in the circumstances would include in answering the questions.

You have this duty until we agree to insure you.

If you do not tell us something
If you do not tell us anything you are required to tell us, we may cancel your contract or reduce the amount we will pay you if you make a claim, or both. If your failure to tell us is fraudulent, we may refuse to pay a claim and treat the contract as if it never existed.
Electronic communication
By applying online you agree to receive quotation, medical and policy documentation electronically for all travellers on the quote/policy to the email address you provide.

When we say personal information we may also mean sensitive information such as health information that's relevant to us issuing, administering or managing products or providing services and the terms on which we will do these things. We may share your information with other QBE Group companies, our authorised representatives and service providers, each of which may be based outside of Australia.

If you don't provide all of the personal information we've requested we may be unable to issue, administer or manage products or provide services.
